Smart Speller

Smart Speller is a simple but effective educational game designed to help small kids learn to spell. It’s a pilot project among a series of applications that are in the pipeline within the EduKidsApps framework startup launched by Lemberg. EduKidsApps was among the five finalists of Nonick 2011 Startup Competition held in Bilbao, Spain.

SmartSpeller is designed specifically for toddlers to first-graders and aids in learning to spell. It contains seven sets of images spanning such categories as Colours and Numbers, Fruit and Vegetables, Vehicles, Body parts, Geometrical Shapes etc.

The app has 13 language versions, so can be used not only by children learning to spell in their first language, but also kids and adults alike learning their second, third etc. language (English, German, Italian and Polish already available on Android market).

Owing to the three levels of complexity (with hints, without hints and with extra letters), SmartSpeller will be exciting for kids to go through over and again, moving to the next level as they grow up and learn.

With its spectacular graphics, soft original sounding and undeniable educational value, the game can capture the attention of the fidgety child and so spare their parents a moment or two to themselves. SmartSpeller - learning while entertaining.

  • Story screen

The storyline behind the game is that Sunny has lost his rainbow, and by spelling the words correctly the kid will help Sunny find it.

  • Rainbow fence

Each time the child spells the word correctly, a part of a rainbow is retrieved.

  • Picture bubbles

A child selects an object by touching its picture and is then invited to spell the word. The objects include shapes and numbers, fruit & vegetables, vehicles, body parts and farm animals.

  • Spelling blocks

The child then clicks and drags a letter to its correct position in the word, and it stays there.
The letters may be put in place in any order, as long as the sequence is correct.
If the child drags a letter into a wrong position, it simply won’t stay there.

  • Drop by drop

Every time a word is spelled correctly, the vial is filled with a drop. Once the vial is filled up, the sun cheers up having finally found his rainbow!
Three different difficulty levels to challenge your child as they develop.

  • All done!

Once all the words from all the categories have been spelled correctly, the mission to help Sunny find his lost rainbow has been successful.
