Bukovel

Bukovel is a digital guide for the largest ski resort in Eastern Europe. The app features an interactive map that shows information on all the ski runs, lifts and facilities in the resort. It operates offline as well as online to make it more useful for customers in the resort, who may have limited connectivity.

As well as the map, the app features weather and condition reports, webcams and pictures, news and contacts as well as other useful information for skiers and snowboarders. It also includes integration with social networks such as Facebook and Twitter so users can see what is happening right that moment in the resort.

For this project Lemberg provided full cycle development services. This ran from developing the concept in collaboration with our client, through development of web services, design of the User Interface, graphics design, development and deployment.

To speed the development, the app makes use of Lemberg’s proprietary framework for custom maps, which automates the production of interactive custom maps from source images.  By automatically breaking down the images into tiles, it allows Lemberg to optimise the performance of the map on mobile hardware.

The iOS version of the app is out now and an Android version is coming soon.
